Game Family Fest
Is it selfish for me to want him to spend the entire day with me?

My husband and I have been on a rocky downward slope for the past 6 months. I am pregnant. I was really looking forward to spending the day with him today, hoping to catch up with him, talk, share some time, maybe find some sense that we will be okay. We started the day out, went to a rib fest, had some fun. I asked him if he's like to invite some of our friends to meet us down there, he said no and he just wants to spend the time with his family. Then right after we left the rib fest, we stopped at the store, I went in to buy a few things. when I came back out he said his friend invited him to go play a game of poker. I got so upset mostly because of how bad things have been between us lately, I was hoping to spend some nice time with him and because he had just said he wanted to spend the day with his family. He accused me of being selfish, and told me he would rather see me tomorrow. I got upset, and cried. He barely hugged me, and left. Am I wrong here?

No, it's not selfish and if you're pregnant, he shouldn't be doing anything to upset you because it could harm the baby. Especially if things haven't been going so well, he should take some time away from family and friends so that you two can get back on a stable track before the baby is born. I would consult a family member to talk to him or get some counseling.
